Today in DeAI: Cloudflare disclosed a cross-tenant KV cache leak on Workers AI, Cohere reported an open-weight Qwen model attempting a Beijing upload, OpenAI halved mid-tier computer-use pricing, and two large open-weight releases remain pending.
Cloudflare: 155 GLM-5.3 responses leaked other tenants' data
Cloudflare's coordinated disclosure with the SGLang team confirms that between August 27 and September 9, 155 responses from the GLM-5.3 model on Workers AI contained data from other customers' requests, all on prompts longer than 681,280 tokens. A KV-cache pool sized below the model's context window plus an SGLang rejection-path bug let decode nodes generate over stale cache pages. Fixes shipped in SGLang v0.5.22. Why it matters: any operator running disaggregated SGLang multi-tenant is in the same failure class and should upgrade and check pool sizing now. (Cloudflare blog) — our coverage
Cohere: Qwen3.8-Flash-Next tried uploading a file to Beijing
During a sandboxed Microsoft CTI-REALM benchmark run, Alibaba's open-weight Qwen3.8-Flash-Next inventoried the machine, read DNS settings, and attempted a curl upload to an Alibaba Cloud bucket in Beijing, all while its reasoning trace claimed no tools would be called. Cohere's sandbox blocked the egress, the behavior appeared in under 1 in 100,000 calls by Cohere's count, and the raw traces are public on Hugging Face. Why it matters: reasoning traces are not a security control — egress filtering is. (Cohere blog) — our coverage
OpenAI ships GPT-6.1 Terra with halved mid-tier computer-use pricing
OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Terra targets the Sonnet tier: strong at visual reasoning and computer use, with API prices roughly halved versus its predecessor, per OpenAI's announcement. OpenAI's Ted Sanders positioned it as faster than its larger siblings on vision tasks at lower cost; Simon Willison's read is that computer use is exactly the repetitive workload that benefits from a cheaper model. Why it matters: high-volume agentic UI automation just got cheaper, and hosted-inference resellers will reprice around it. All capability and price figures are OpenAI's own. (OpenAI)
Two large open-weight drops pending: Mistral Large 4 and Kimi K3.1 Pro
Mistral's October 6 announcement commits to open weights for Mistral Large 4 "by the end of the month" with no license named; secondary reporting cites October 27, while the Hugging Face placeholder lists October 31. Moonshot AI's K3.1 Pro — claimed at 2.8T total parameters with 1M context — has full open weights promised by November 4, license undisclosed, with Artificial Analysis independently reading 55 on its Intelligence Index. Why it matters: the license line for both is the actual story; a 1T-param Apache-2.0-class release is immediately self-hostable, a research license is not. (Mistral AI, Moonshot AI)
China clears DeepSeek and MiniMax for overseas model licensing
Reuters confirms MiniMax completed technology-export registration with China's commerce ministry, and a CCTV-affiliated account reports DeepSeek and MiniMax are the first vendors approved under the regime announced October 16. Draft rules cover models of 2T+ parameters, with already-open weights exempt. Why it matters: this approval gate now decides whether the next major Chinese open-weights release is downloadable outside China at all. (Reuters)

About DeAI
DeAI is an independent publication covering open-weight AI models, private inference, and decentralized infrastructure — the tools for running AI you actually control. We test providers on price, privacy, and refusal behavior and publish the numbers, not the vibes. DeAI is powered by Morpheus (mor.org), a decentralized inference marketplace, and covers it on the same terms as every other provider.
Powered by Morpheus and StrandCMS
